Privacy Policy — Vyom
Last updated: 14 June 2026
Vyom is a free AI nutrition & activity tracker. You log meals and
workouts in your own words, by voice, or by photo, and the app tracks
calories and macros against a personal target. This policy explains what
the app does — and does not do — with your information.
The short version: Vyom has no accounts and no servers
of its own that store your data. Your meals, workouts, water, steps and
profile stay on your device. The only time information
leaves your phone is when you ask the assistant to interpret text or a
food photo — that request is sent for processing and a result is returned.
We don't show ads, we don't track you, and we don't sell your data.
Information stored on your device
All of the following is saved locally on your phone (in the app's own
storage) and is not uploaded to any Vyom account or database:
- Meals, workouts, water and the chat history you create.
- Your profile: things like age, sex, height, weight, activity level
and your calorie/macro goals, used to calculate your targets.
- Daily step counts, if you turn on step tracking.
- App settings (language, easy mode, reminder preferences).
The app keeps roughly the last 90 days of daily history on the device.
You can clear your day or export a local backup from within the app.
Information processed when you use the AI assistant
To understand natural-language and photo logging, some content you
choose to submit is sent for processing through a proxy operated by the
developer, which forwards it to AI providers:
- Text you type or speak to log food or ask a question
is sent to a large-language-model provider (Groq) to interpret it and
return calories/macros or an answer.
- Food photos you choose to upload are sent to an image
analysis service (via Cloudflare) to identify the food items.
These requests are used only to process that specific request and return
a result. Vyom does not attach an account or identity to them (there is no
sign-in). The content is handled by those providers under their own terms;
please review Groq's and
Cloudflare's
privacy policies. If you don't use voice/photo or free-text features, no
such data is sent.
Permissions and why we ask
- Camera / Photos: only to let you attach a meal photo
for analysis. The photo is stored locally and is sent to the image
service when you choose to analyse it.
- Microphone: optional voice input. Speech is converted
to text using your device's built-in speech recognition, which may be
provided by your operating system (for example, Google on Android) and is
subject to that provider's terms.
- Physical activity / step sensor: optional. Used to
count your steps on-device to estimate activity. Step data is not shared.
- Notifications: optional local reminders to log your
meals. These are scheduled on your device; no reminder data leaves the
phone.
What we don't do
- No user accounts or sign-in.
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics or third-party tracking SDKs.
- No selling or renting of your information.
Data retention and deletion
Because your data lives on your device, you are in control: clearing the
day in the app removes that day's entries, and uninstalling the app removes
all locally stored data. Requests processed by the AI providers are subject
to their retention policies linked above.
Children
Vyom is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children
under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be
reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
